Alice in Wonderland

This new show, based on the story by Lewis Carrol brings together all the favourite characters from the original and transports them, and the audience, to a fun fair as Alice is thrown into a marvellous, magical, musical adventure.

Young Alice loves helping on the rides with her dad Eric - it's always been the two of them. Alice's life is turned upside down when her dad says they are leaving the fair. Confused and sad, Alice feels lost. But after dark that night, the fair comes alive and Alice is suddenly plunged into an incredible adventure in this strange new Wonderland where everything is topsy-turvy. Luckily the white rabbit, the mad hatter and many more are there to help her on a journey that will bring her closer to her family than she ever imagined.

The production has been written by Laura Turner, who previously wrote Gala Durham's wonderful 2021 Christmas production The Nutcracker Re-Miced.

Alice is be performed by Beth Crame, sharing the stage with Steven Stobbs as The White Rabbit, the wonderfully mad Kieron Michael as the Hatter, Aiden Nord as the Dormouse and Karen Traynor as the Duchess. The fabulous Kylie Ann Ford as The Queen of Hearts returns to the Gala, having previously played in The Adventures of Robin Hood in 2021.

Packed full of laughter, some very crazy songs and fun for the whole family, Alice In Wonderland runs at Gala Durham from Tuesday 1 August to Saturday 12 August. There will be accessible performances including a relaxed performance on Tuesday 8 August at 2pm and a British Sign Language and captioned performance on Thursday 10 August at 2pm.

Tickets are priced from £15, with family ticket offers also available, and can be purchased by calling the Gala Durham Box Office on 03000 266 600 or online.
